With all the talk surrounding the Saints’ defense and the return of Jameis Winston and Michael Thomas the fact that Sean Payton is no longer there is lost on many it seems. While Dennis Allen might have had a great game in his lone game as head coach last season it is too often forgotten he has a career record of 8-28. One great game against Tom Brady and everyone seems to forget what an absolute mess Allen was without Sean Payton.

Now Payton is gone and Allen is stepping away as the defensive coordinator to lead the team. Add in the trade of C.J. Gardner-Johnson and this Saints secondary isn’t going to be what many fans expect it to be in week one. The Falcons have a real chance to surprise a unit still learning to play together not only with Kyle Pitts but with rookie receiver Drake London.

London is going to burst onto the scene in week one against the Saints showing why Atlanta drafted him so highly and establishing himself as their primary receiver. The Saints’ secondary has solid pieces but lacks the size to stop Pitts or London consistently. Who on their roster is a favorable matchup to go up and stop Pitts or London? The answer will be obvious on Sunday when London starts his rookie season off in impressive fashion.
