Buccaneers LB has immature excuse for Atlanta Falcons late comeback
To make it to the NFL you have to have a lot of maturity, at least most of the time as we are now seeing the exception to that rule. The Atlanta Falcons on Sunday fought their way back down 21-0 to make it a one-score game and we all know what happened next but that is not the subject of this article.
What is the subject is how one of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ defenders had a lame and immature excuse as to why the Falcons were able to make a comeback.
Instead of being a man and owning up to the fact that the Falcons outplayed the Bucs in the fourth quarter, he made a sorry excuse.
Buccaneers LB Devin White shows immaturity by not crediting the Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons have taken on a fighter mentality this season under head coach Arthur Smith ever since their week one collapse. They have taken nothing for granted. Let’s face it, this team is clearly different than prior years and most people can clearly see that.
The media, opposing players, and opposing coaches have been commending this team for the way they fight each and every week. Heck, even Tom Brady gave credit to the Dirty Birds prior to their matchup.
But one of Brady’s teammates, former LSU Tiger Devin White has a different opinion that is just simply ignorant.
There are so many things wrong with this statement. First, he ignores the fact that the Falcons simply outplayed them in the final quarter. Sure, he says that they will make their plays too but that is a generic comment that he would say about anyone no matter the situation.
Second, he makes his teammates, his coaches, and himself look bad. You lose your aggressiveness when you go up by two or three scores? Not sure that that is what Todd Bowles has taught you or any one of your coaches throughout your entire life.
Honestly, it is kind of sad to see this. Most people are not ignorant enough to glance over the fact that they got outplayed. 99 times out of 100, you see opposing players or coaches commend the other team no matter what, even if they beat them 60-0.
Then again, I guess anyone would try to make excuses when they have missed 13.1% of their tackles and given up a 102.8 passer rating, 80.9% completion percentage, 2,112 yards, and 1,1240 yards after the catch in their four years as a pro.
And apparently last week in primetime they were lazy from snap one of the game as they gave up 28 points in the first half and 41 points in the game. Not to mention, allowing the Chiefs, who are known to be a passing team, to rush for 189 yards on 37 carries, equating to 5.1 yards per rush.
We will have to see how the Buccaneers perform as we progress through the year because one thing is for sure, if they keep performing the way they are, they have no chance against the elite teams in the NFL.
Face the facts Devin White, the Atlanta Falcons may have been stopped for much of the game but they did outplay you and should have been given an opportunity to win the game at the end, if not for another play that has been quite controversial.
