3 Reasons to believe the Atlanta Falcons are NFC South favorites
By Nick Halden
1. Tom Brady’s Bucs are lost
Perhaps in the coming weeks, Brady will do what he did his first season in Tampa and right the ship after a rough start and make the typical Brady playoff run. However, this season has been anything but typical for Brady and the Bucs that are coming off of a loss to Mitch Trubisky and the Steelers a week after getting bailed out by the officials against Atlanta.
This version of Brady and Tampa isn’t scaring anyone at all. Any capable team can beat this unit any given week including the Atlanta Falcons. If Mariota plays the way he did against San Francisco against the Bucs two weeks ago Atlanta doesn’t rely on a penalty and the Falcons beat Brady and have the division lead.
This was a scary team just a season ago with Brady’s offense mowing down any team in front of them and an injured Tampa Bay defense playing well considering their injuries. This team came so close to completing an epic comeback and beating the Rams in the playoffs last season. But just like the Rams that version of Tampa is suddenly gone and Atlanta is going to have a chance to hang with Brady and the Bucs this season.
