3. Arthur Smith

The Atlanta Falcons appear to be the best-coached team in the NFC South and Smith deserves so much credit for what he is doing this season. This team is dealing with over $70-million in dead cap and has no long-term answer at the most important position on the field.

Despite coaching with one hand tied behind his back because of this Smith has had Atlanta in a position to win all six games this season and has been beyond impressive. He had the Falcons with a perfect gameplan on Sunday against Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers who despite a myriad of injuries clearly had more talent on their roster.

Smith outcoached the former Atlanta offensive coordinator with a great gameplan that had Atlanta gain control of this game early and continually bully San Francisco on both sides of the ball in the trenches. Belief in this team if boiled down to one simple reason should be that they have the best head coach in the division that has his team not only believing in his system but playing as one at a level Atlanta hasn’t in a very long time.
