First reason: The Atlanta Falcons would bring Lamar Jackson closer to home

Is there any better reason for a player to sign somewhere than being closer to home? It is a simple reason that could bring Lamar Jackson to the Atlanta Falcons.

Lamar Jackson grew up in Pompano Beach, Florida. If you couldn’t figure this out by now, Atlanta is much closer to Florida than Baltimore Maryland is.

Not to mention, he went to college at Louisville, which is also closer to Atlanta than Baltimore.

Atlanta is about 400 miles closer to his hometown and about 200 miles closer to where he went to college, compared to where the Ravens reside.

That might seem like a minimal distance or not seem like a big deal, but Jackson is tight with his family. He has an extremely close relationship with his mother. Even if she lives with him now as she is his manager, they both still might want to be closer to home.

After all, you make a lot of friends as you grow up, and even in college, most people would want to be as close to them as possible.

If money is similar between a select two teams, then location will usually be the deciding factor, and assuming it isn’t the Ravens who offered similar money, Atlanta would probably have the advantage.
