Atlanta Falcons need to be wary of the Washington Commanders
Earlier in the year you could look ahead at the Atlanta Falcons’ matchup with the Washington Commanders and see it as a very winnable game, but the NFL stands for “Not For Long” and that can be said about the early narratives around the Commanders.
The Falcons find themselves as underdogs on the road against the Commanders who have one more win than them, so of course, they need to be wary, but it is still easy to overlook them as a sub-par team.
The Atlanta Falcons need to be careful going against the Washington Commanders
The Atlanta Falcons are taking on a Washington Commanders team that started the season out at 1-4 and looked completely dead in the water.
However, here we are in week 12 and they have a winning record at 6-5 as they proceeded to win five out of six following their dismal start. That is what you call scratching your way back into the playoff picture.

Both of these teams are still in the hunt for the postseason but in much different ways. The Falcons can still easily win their division while the Commanders are in last place in their division despite being over .500.
Washington’s only loss over the past six weeks came against the Minnesota Vikings who are currently 9-2. They managed to give the Philadelphia Eagles their first loss of the season just a couple weeks ago.
This is a dangerous team that is clearly hot right now. The Atlanta Falcons must view them as a team that is 5-1, rather than 6-5. The 5-1 record is much more relevant here in late November. It shows how great they are playing right now and the Falcons need to find a way to stop them in their tracks on the road.
It will not be easy by any stretch of the imagination. The Falcons need to play their best game of the year in order to win.
