1. Use Cordarrelle Patterson sparingly in a utility role

The Atlanta Falcons have Patterson under contract for next season and should use him very sparingly moving forward. Save his legs for next year when Atlanta will be able to bring in more help and the games will mean more.

You have two running backs Caleb Huntley and Tyler Allgeier who have shown they are more than capable of carrying the load. Continue to evaluate both running backs mixing in Avery Williams on occasion and allowing Patterson to play in a limited utility role.

Atlanta’s season is essentially over there is no reason to give a veteran as important as Patterson a heavy load and risk an injury that could impact next season. Atlanta needs to begin to look at their final four games not only as contests but also as tape they will be using to evaluate off-season decisions and find what they need to change. Patterson is clearly part of the solution and not the problem making him a weapon Atlanta should be very protective of in their final four games of the season.
