Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos take the cake when it comes to AFC teams the Atlanta Falcons are glad they aren’t. Look at the terrible situation they are in, it is a complete disaster.

You have probably heard the story by now, the Broncos have been looking for a franchise quarterback ever since Peyton Manning retired, so they made the blockbuster move to bring in Russell Wilson in exchange for two starters, two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and more.

They proceed to give him a contract worth $250 million (roughly $50 million annually) and all he has been able to do is win three of his 13 games despite having a top-three defense backing him up. It has been a trainwreck, or should I say a car wreck (Let’s ride!).

Oh, and that first-round pick they gave Seattle has an 85% chance to be a top-five pick in the draft. It is not a good situation. Russ has played, at best, like a backup, and his dead cap hit—depending on the situation—could be over $100 million in the extreme event they choose to cut him.

It doesn’t get much worse than this and we should all be thankful that the Atlanta Falcons didn’t pull off a move like this.
