2. Derek Carr

If the Atlanta Falcons cannot land Lamar Jackson or another top-ten quarterback this off-season Derek Carr would be a nice consolation prize. Unlike trading for Jackson Atlanta won’t have to break the bank to acquire or keep Carr. Whether it is agreeing to a trade or signing Carr if he forces his way out of Las Vegas the Falcons would be able to bring in the veteran quarterback and still make moves around him.

Trading for Lamar would seriously limit what other moves the Falcons can make despite their massive cap space.  Carr would be a perfect fit for the Falcons and their run-heavy offense. Bringing in veteran receivers and continuing to lean on Patterson and Allgeier next season allowing Carr to pick apart defenses that are forced to play the run.

Carr would allow the Falcons to use Kyle Pitts and Drake London as the elite weapons that they are and not run the inept passing attack they did for the majority of the season. Carr might not make Atlanta Super Bowl contenders but he brings stability to the most important position on the field which would be more than enough for this roster to win the NFC South.
