3. Desmond Ridder

If Desmond Ridder is the quarterback many Atlanta Falcons fans believe him to be there is no question this will prove to be Atlanta’s most valuable contract. Ridder is a scheduled $1.2 million dollar cap hit with only an $870,000 thousand dollar base salary. This is a bargain deal if Desmond Ridder is the backup quarterback much less a franchise building block.

Whether or not the Falcons are going to build around Ridder remains unclear with plenty of speculation surrounding the Falcons as a fit for Lamar Jackson or a number of veteran quarterbacks.

Atlanta’s best move remains attempting to take advantage of having a quarterback on a rookie deal and build the roster around that.  Atlanta has three seasons before they will be forced to make a decision on paying Desmond Ridder, if Ridder is anything close to a franchise quarterback this is Atlanta’s window to return to the Super Bowl and reverse the bad luck that has followed the franchise since the end of the 2016 season.
