3 Reasons the Atlanta Falcons have the advantage in the NFC South
By Nick Halden
3. Arthur Smith
Arthur Smith has proven he can take below-average rosters and elevate the team to compete each week regardless of the opponent. While there were outliers against the Patriots, Bengals, and Cowboys the Falcons for the most part are in every game and a large part of that is due to their head coach.
Frank Reich is the new Carolina head coach and has an argument as the best coach in the division, however, he lacks the experience that Smith has in the division or the aforementioned quarterback and cap space.
If you’re Tampa Bay how do you still believe in Todd Bowles? The head coach had every chance to succeed with great defensive pieces, elite receivers, and Tom Brady and was unable to finish with a winning record or put together a competitive playoff game. Smith is clearly the better head coach.
Sean Payton jumped ship from New Orleans for a reason and it is very obvious why. The Saints promoted coordinator Dennis Allen to the position who in double the seasons Arthur Smith has coached in this league has only one more win.
