1. Carson Wentz

If Desmond Ridder cannot beat Wentz in a quarterback competition it would be shocking. There is always the chance a team continues to be clouded by the one MVP-level season that Carson played and gives the veteran quarterback another chance at starting.

However, it seems very likely that Wentz will be looking for a situation to compete for a starting job or be signed as a top backup option. Wentz has flamed out at each of his three landing spots leaving the Eagles, Colts, and Commanders in three consecutive seasons.

Teams have been openly critical of Wentz both in the mistakes the quarterback makes and his leadership qualities or lack thereof.  Still, Carson’s raw talent and the ability he showed in his early seasons with the Eagles makes this an interesting fit for the Falcons.

Give Desmond Ridder every advantage in this competition making the second year quarterback having to actively lose the job to consider starting Wentz. A quarterback who would be a great second option and perhaps could find the magic that Nick Foles seemingly stole from the quarterback in Philly.
