Looking for Mariota’s next landing spot teams can be boiled down to two categories those shopping at the bottom of this year’s backup quarterback options or teams looking for a mobile quarterback to be able to run the same system.

Jalen Hurts fueled the Eagles’ run to the Super Bowl with his ability to run the ball and create space behind a great offensive line. Even Mariota would be capable of competing in games running this offense. We watched Minshew attempt to run the Philly offense and saw how different they look without Jalen Hurts and the ability to consistently use the quarterback’s legs.

Mariota would bring that ability without the Eagles having to spend big allowing the team to continue focusing on attempting to keep a great defense together. The Eagles have an elite receiving group as well limiting even Mariota’s ability to overthrow and mess up what should be a great offense in the 2023 season.
