3. Cornerback
Terry Fontenot not drafting a cornerback at any point in the draft might be a bigger surprise than him drafting Michael Penix Jr. with the eighth pick.
This was a position that had to be addressed and it wasn't. The pressure is now on Clark Phillips III to be a starting outside cornerback because there aren't any players behind him that should be starting.
Much like edge rusher, if a young player doesn't step up then the position is doomed. Not to mention, A.J. Terrell and Clark Phillips must stay healthy or teams will slice and dice the defense. The defense needs to get stops if they want to beat teams like the Eagles and Chiefs.
