The Atlanta Falcons can’t get out of their own way

The Atlanta Falcons have dropped four out of their last five games and are now on the outside looking in for a playoff spot.

The Atlanta Falcons have stepped on their own feet more times than not this year and that has translated into four consecutive losses after starting their off at 5-0.

Just when you think the Falcons are going to do something good, they follow it up with something bad. It’s gotten to the point where fans are just waiting for them to self-implode at some point during a game and as of late it has come time after time.

The Falcons had a chance to keep their playoff hopes alive and solidify themselves as a wildcard team but were unable to do so with a poor showing at home against the Minnesota Vikings. Matt Ryan threw two more interceptions including one in the endzone that took the air out of the building.

With the loss the Falcons are now on the outside of the playoffs looking in after the Seattle Seahawks moved up into the sixth seed this past Sunday and will need a win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week to get back into the hunt.

Ryan has been terrible. There is no hiding that anymore. However, one thing that Falcons’ fans need to get through their heads is this. Ryan is not going anywhere! He is this teams’ quarterback and if you have a problem with that then it might be time to switch teams because it is what it is.

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what the Falcons’ problem is but one thing is for certain. If the Falcons don’t win at least three out of their last five games then their playoff hopes are over. That task will be extremely difficult with the Carolina Panthers still on the schedule twice and a tough home game with the New Orleans Saints still to play.

If I were you, i’d plan on this team missing the playoffs and save your heartbreak for another day. If they make it, they make it. If they don’t, they don’t. Let’s see how it plays out.
