Round 4: OT Ja’Wuan James, Tennessee
Important Stat: Started all 49 games of his college career at RT.
Matt Ryan needs protection, and badly. Also needing an improvement is the Falcons’ run game. While tackle may arguably stand out as Atlanta’s most pressing need, they doesn’t necessarily need a top prospect to make the offensive line noticeably better.
Tennessee’s Ja’Wuan James was quietly playing sound football in the shadow of fellow Vol Antonio Richardson, and has the perfect mold of a NFL right tackle. James is a very athletic lineman, and at 6’6″ and 311 lbs, he’s a mauler in the run game. He possesses great technique, and would likely beat out Holmes or Johnson for a starting spot.
