Round 7: S Anthony Harris, Virginia
The Falcons will hit the clock for the last time (barring trades) with the 249th-overall pick. With this selection, they could find a future prospect at safety in Anthony Harris. Harris has reportedly met with Dimitroff:
At 6’1″ and 183 pounds, he has good size. He was productive at Virginia, too. Between 2013 and 2014, Harris recorded 188 tackles, 16 defended passes and 10 interceptions.
Lance Zierlein of NFL.com wrote:
"“Productive three-year starter with above-average instincts and football intelligence. Was an interchangeable safety, playing both deep and in run support, but lacks the bulk, physicality and sure tackling to make a living in the box in the NFL. Harris has some coverage limitations in man, but his skills will get him drafted and should also earn him a starting spot fairly quickly.”"
Harris has potential to develop into a future starter at safety. With the Falcons needing desperate help in pass defense, he could find opportunities to feature early on should they draft him.
