Week 7: @ Tennessee Titans

The Titans have struggled all over the field of late, and they will be hoping Marcus Mariota can help turn the franchise around. Mariota will need time, however, to adapt to the NFL and I’m not convinced he will be playing at a high enough level in Week 7.

More from Atlanta Falcons News

A lot of focus for the Titans has been placed on offense, with the additions of receviers Dorial Green-Beckham and Tre McBride, lineman Jeremiah Poutasi and running back David Cobb in the draft. They also acquired former Falcon Harry Douglas and Hakeem Nicks in free agency.

That’s plenty of weapons for Mariota in his rookie season, with a nice blend of experience and youth. Only seven weeks into his NFL career, my expectation is that the Falcons will be able to generate some pressure and force mistakes which could lead to turnovers.

Have the Titans added enough to improve their defense?

This is what could get them into trouble. Their run defense ranked 31st in 2014, while their pass defense performed better in 15th.

With rookie Tevin Coleman teaming with Devonta Freeman, along with the explosive passing game, the Falcons should have enough to put up points and secure the victory.

Unless Mariota makes a great start to his NFL career, I can only see one winner here.
