Week 15: @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Late in the season, the Falcons get to travel to sunny Florida to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. Will the Falcons be in the midst of a playoff battle?

The Jaguars just never catch a break, and they were dealt a major blow when third overall pick Dante Fowler Jr. went down in rookie minicamp, and will now be out for the entire season. It’s a big setback for a defense that was trying to revamp its pass rush.

Injuries suck, and we wish him a speedy recovery. Matt Ryan probably won’t mind Fowler sitting out of this game though, and the Falcons will be expected to put up points against Jacksonville.

The Jaguars added some nice pieces to their defense this offseason. I like the acquisition of cornerback Davon House; he has a ton of upside and can become a starter. Defensive tackle Michael Bennett was a solid draft pick in the sixth round, too.

Blake Bortles struggled in his rookie campaign, but this was largely down to the lack of protection he was receiving. They added center Stefen Wisniewski via free agency and guard A.J. Cann in the draft in an attempt to shore up the line.

With the free agent signing of tight end Julius Thomas, Bortles will have some more help in 2015. Despite that, the Falcons should be too strong in every department and will be expected walk out of Florida with a victory.
