Matt Ryan will be in a position battle with…. yeah just kidding. Ryan is the starting quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, no news here! However, there will be a quarterback battle to look out for at training camp. Tyler Yates will battle it out with Sean Renfree for the backup job in 2015 just like they did in 2014.

The Falcons decided to keep three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster out of camp last year, but may not do that again in 2015. This would mean that one of these two men could potentially get cut at the end of camp. With that being said, I fully believe that the Falcons will not keep three quarterbacks.
Too many other players are worthy of a spot rather than a quarterback who baring a miracle will not see a single snap in the regular season. The Falcons could use that extra spot on a linebacker or a man on the offensive line rather than waste it on a quarterback.
My prediction is for Renfree to beat out Yates for the backup job and send Yates packing. Renfree was drafted for the Falcons for that very reason while Yates was a late addition to the roster before camp a year ago. Yates struggled every time he saw action in the preseason and regular season and doesn’t seem to be the best man for the job. Look for Renfree to beat out Yates.
