Ready for football? If you can’t wait until September 14 to see the Atlanta Falcons in action, you will be able to take control in the latest edition of Madden 16, and the Falcons’ ratings have been revealed.

After a disappointing 6-10 season, the Falcons are the third ranked team in the NFC South with a low overall rating of 77. The Carolina Panthers (80) top the division ahead of the New Orleans Saints (78) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (74).

"ATLANTA FALCONS (TEAM 77 OVR)There’s a new coaching staff in Atlanta, but much of the Falcons’ offense remains the same. QB Matt Ryan (90 OVR) still has quality targets in WRs Julio Jones (94 OVR), Roddy White (84 OVR), and Leonard Hankerson (76 OVR). New offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan can choose between rookie HB Tevin Coleman (74 OVR) or Davonta Freeman (75 OVR) in the backfield.Rookie first-round pick Vic Beasley Jr. (77 OVR/88 SPD) should get the start at RE. Returning defenders include CB Desmond Trufant (90 OVR) and ROLB Justin Durant (84 OVR)."

Matt Ryan and Julio Jones are deservedly scored highly, with Jones ranked in the top five among wide receivers.

If you’re hoping to dominate with the rookies, it may be a little difficult, with Vic Beasley scoring just 77 overall and Tevin Coleman just 74.

You may feel EA Sports need to rate Devonta Freeman a little higher, although I think they should start by spelling his name right…

Madden NFL 16 is released on August 25.
