Julio means a lot to Falcons, but more to Atlanta

Julio Jones is Atlanta’s next bonafide superstar. He also fills the excitement criteria. But there’s something different about Jones in relation to Atlanta’s other exciting superstars. The others were flawed stars, but Jones looks like he’ll be the city’s first ever “complete” star.

Dominique Wilkins could never lead the Atlanta Hawks close to a championship, while Jones has already played a part in nearly getting the Falcons to a Super Bowl, and he still has many more tries remaining. Deion Sanders left, while Jones just signed a new five-year contract with the team. Mike Vick fell from grace due to felony charges, while Julio Jones is a upstanding citizen who has never gotten into any off-the-field trouble in his life.

At this point, the only thing that could stop Julio is his health. He has a history of foot problems, and missed most of the 2013 season because of these issues, but they seem to be behind him.

Atlanta’s craving for an electric superstar has finally been filled, and for the first time it looks like the city will finally have a happy ever after with Julio Jones, and not heartbreak like with Wilkins, Sanders, and Vick.

Julio Jones means everything to the Falcons, but he might mean even more to the city of Atlanta.
