Best running game

Coming into the season, Devonta Freeman seemed to be a band aid that was covering the gushing wounds of a lackluster running game. If anything, he was to be the temporary solution until the next big star, Tevin Coleman, grew into the role as the premier back.

But when the door opened for Freeman, he burst through like someone on a mission, and what he has done has been nothing short of outstanding.

The best thing for the Falcons is they don’t just have Freeman carrying the rock. They now have another option behind him that will keep Freeman and the Falcons moving successfully down the field against any opponent they face.

Tevin Coleman hasn’t seen the amount of touches as Devonta due to injury, but when that kid has the ball in his hands, he weaves in an out of any crevice progressing the ball downfield. And when you can add that to Freeman, it makes for a very feared running back duo.

This combination at the running back position should spearhead this offense to being able to compete if for some reason the passing game isn’t working. The aerial attack is actually opened more by an effective ground game.

It’s hard to find a run game more effective than what the Falcons have found in Freeman and, now Coleman.
