What to watch

Any pass rush?

The Falcons pass rush has struggled all season, and the Jaguars offensive line has struggled to keep Blake Bortles upright. Bortles has been sacked 39 times, second most in the NFL. So, something has to give. This battle could determine the winner of the game.

If Bortles has a clean pocket to operate in, he can pick apart the secondary. If he is put under pressure and sacked a few times, the game could tilt in favor of the Falcons. The matchup between the Falcons pass defense and the Jaguars offensive line will be a big one.

Special teams battle

Last week, Rashad Greene broke out a 79-yard punt return for the Jaguars. The score took the game away from the Colts and opened the floodgates. Well, the Falcons have a pretty good return man too.

Devin Hester looked healthy against the Panthers and made some good plays. If either player can break out a big return, it could make all the difference. Kickoff and punt coverage will be just as important.

Falcons’ attitude

How will the Falcons react after such a heavy loss last week? It was a sixth straight defeat, and the players looked ill-disciplined and defeated. Will they bounce back, or have they already conceded the season is over?

That is the ultimate test of this team on Sunday.
