15) Falcons 27, Broncos 21: September 17, 2012

Peyton Manning who?

When Peyton Manning landed in Denver, people thought that the legendary quarterback would add fuel to the fire for a Broncos team that was beginning to turn the corner, and a game against the Falcons seemed all too easy for the icon Peyton Manning.

Someone forgot to give the Falcons the memo as they hit the Broncos square in the mouth during this game. Whether it was an interception or a touchdown pass, Atlanta was one step ahead of the Broncos for what seemed like the entire game.

For a quarterback in his second game for his new team, Manning hadn’t been that unraveled since his rookie season with the Indianapolis Colts.

Manning was able to lead the Broncos back for a closer score in the end, but 27-21 scorecard wasn’t indicative of how one-sided that game was.

This game became a resounding call to the NFL that the Falcons were about to cause a little havoc along the way. And when they came into the playoffs, games, such as this one, vaulted them into the playoff mentality which would be the deciding factors in the later weeks of the schedule.
