The Atlanta Falcons’ one big splash in the 2015 offseason was the pickup of outside linebacker Brooks Reed. Reed spent the beginning of his career playing alongside Brian Cushing for the Houston Texans and signed a 5-year, $22.5 million contact with the Falcons.

Many figured that Reed would provide the Falcons with a reliable linebacker for the next several years but his first season with the team turned out to be a disaster. Reed battled through injury all throughout training camp and did not see playing time until  four games into the season.

Reed finished with just 17 tackles on the year on minimal snaps. That is not what you want to see out of a player that you just paid 2.5 million to play linebacker.

At the moment this is shaping up to be yet another dumb signing by general manager Thomas Dimitroff but lets hope Reed has a thing or two up his sleeve for 2016.
