1. Defensive line

Everyone knows that the Atlanta Falcons have a horrible pass rush… that’s been made blatantly clear by the teams who have picked apart this defense all year. But how bad is it actually? Atlanta ranked 32nd in the NFL in sacks this season. Something that needs to be addressed immediately.

The Falcons had a combined total of nineteen sacks this year. Yes! Only nineteen. And if you have a shaky second line of defense with a bad linebacking corps, then there is not fear placed in the schemes of the opposing offenses.

Call it what you want, whether youth or inexperience, but it’s obvious that the performance in these areas were nearly good enough and miles away than where they should be.

To place things in a better perspective, the Denver Broncos has a total of 52 sacks this season. Albeit the players on Denver’s defense are better than the ones in Atlanta, there still should not be a difference of thirty-three between two teams who should be in the playoffs every year. And, because of this, they must address this area quickly if they wish to compete in 2016.
