Robert Nkemdiche is another player in the 2016 NFL draft whose stock fluctuates with each passing day. Some have him mocked as high as the top 10 while others have him somewhere in the low 20 range. He very well could go as high as the top 10 if an NFL team falls in love with him in the coming weeks, but the possibility of him still being available at pick 17 is decent at the moment.

Nkemdiche is a Grayson Georgia native and that always affects things when the hometown team has an opportunity to draft the guy. The Falcons will be able to meet just about every family member under the sun and get a feel for what kind of guy he is off the field.

As we all know, Nkemdiche was arrested for marijuana not too long ago and that might turn some teams away. However, the Falcons will be able to get to the bottom of things better than most teams will be able to due to his residence less than an hour away from Falcons’ headquarters.

You may be thinking to yourself, why would the Falcons draft a defensive tackle? Well, despite being listed as a defensive tackle, he acts more like a defensive end. Nkemdiche played defensive end and even running back for most of his career before moving to DT recently. He weighs in at over 300 pounds and could act like a bigger, stronger Aaron Donald with just as good pass rushing abilities.

Having Nkemdiche and Ra’Shede Hageman in the middle of the defensive line clogging everything up will help guys like Vic Beasley and others get to the quarterback easier. Nkemdiche would quickly find a home in Atlanta and be a force for many years to come.
