Linebackers

The Falcons need help at linebacker. Finding someone who can hang in coverage is crucial. Speed is what Dan Quinn wants on defense, so this is something to pay close attention to at the combine. Here’s some linebackers to watch.

Reggie Ragland, Alabama

One of the best linebackers in this year’s draft class. Chance he’s there at No. 17, which could tempt Dimitroff to make a move. Thumping inside linebacker who can contribute right away against the run and also get after the quarterback.

Darron Lee, Ohio State

Coach Quinn wants to add speed to his defense, and Lee could provide that. He’s a great athlete and would help fix some of the coverage issues the Falcons’ linebackers have had. Talented football player and will be one to keep a close eye on at the combine.

Scooby Wright III, Arizona

If the Falcons opt for a defensive end in the first round, Wright could come into play on day two. Injuries have held him back, but Wright has the look of an excellent second round option and one the Falcons should pay close attention to this week and beyond.
