With that extra third round pick, Atlanta grabs a strong safety in Cash with an underrated football IQ and a physical game to go along with it. In Quinn’s scheme, the strong safety spot doesn’t ask for a whole lot from the strong safety. Mainly to provide a physical presence in the box and roam around like an enforcer every so often.

Try this on for size, 33 of Cash’s 98 tackles in 2015 were for a gain two yards or less. Cash has great instincts especially in the run game and yes, his pass coverage needs some polish but he has shown from time to time to be decent in coverage when asked to cover big wide-outs and tight ends. The presence of Cash upgrades the Falcons defense as a whole.
