If the Atlanta Falcons are unable to sign George Iloka, they could be in on Iloka’s teammate, Reggie Nelson. Nelson would not be a long-term solution in Atlanta, but would give them solid depth, if anything. Nelson is listed as a free safety and likely wouldn’t be able to fill the Falcons’ void at strong safety so signing him isn’t the best option.

Nelson will be 33 years old by the start of the season, but he is coming off of his best season ever. He picked off a league-high eight passes and made it to the pro bowl as a result. While he’s an intriguing player, he wouldn’t be anything more than a stop-gap for someone else in the next couple of seasons.

I’d pass on Nelson.
