The center position might not have been their biggest need, but it was without a doubt something that the Atlanta Falcons needed to address and that did that in the best way imaginable. Atlanta signed 3-time pro bowler Alex Mack to a 5-year deal worth $9.5 million and seeing that go down couldn’t put a bigger smile on my face.

Matt Ryan hasn’t had top-of-the-line protection ever since Todd McClure retired so signing a guy like Mack should fix a majority of those issues. Pair Mack with tackles Jake Matthews and Ryan Schreader, and throwing Andy levitate in there and whoever you want to start at right guard and that makes for fantastic staring offensive line.

It doesn’t appear that the Falcons will use one of their 2016 draft picks on a center after the Mack acquisition and that’s great news. The Falcons at the moment only have five draft picks and will need to use those to fill their other major holes, mostly of which are on the defense.
