If I had to guess one player who is currently still a free agent that would sign with the Atlanta Falcons it would have to be defensive end Chris Long. Long has already visited the Falcons and it would make a lot of sense to see him with the team next season.

While Long’s best days are likely behind him, he still has something to offer and a big part of that would be his leadership and experience. When you have a young core of pass rushers and virtually no veterans at the position, a guy like Long would give them a great player to look up to and to learn from.

There is also a very good chance that the Falcons use their first-round draft pick on a pass rush and if they do, having a guy like Long is that much better. This would be a very smart signing but it appears to be out of the Falcons’ hands at this point. Long has met with several other teams and is set to make his decision very soon.

My guess is that Long will either choose the Falcons or the New England Patriots.
