10) Derrick Shelby – DE

This is a player that has yet to take the field in an Atlanta Falcons’ uniform but we can pretty much pencil him in as a top 10 player on the current roster. After Atlanta picks their 2016 draft class, Derrick Shelby might fall off of this list but for now he’s on it.

Shelby was signed to a 4-year, $18 million contract just a couple of weeks ago and was brought in to help bolster the Falcons’ defensive line. Shelby was very underutilized with the Miami Dolphins with the likes of Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon on the roster but in Atlanta he should have a much more expanded role.

Shelby likely isn’t going to give the Falcons 10-sack seasons and he many not even give you five, but what he will give you is a lot of solid play in both the run and the pass and will get the occasional sack as a result. Shelby still has a lot to prove and will get every opportunity imaginable with his new team.
