While it is easy to say that the Atlanta Falcons have the third-best offense in the league, don’t think for a second this is by design.

The Atlanta Falcons have the best wide receiver in the league and one of the league’s best quarterbacks. However, by having a head coach whose main focus is on defense, you lack having the creativity on the offensive side of the ball.

Atlanta Falcons fans should be thankful to have guys like Matt Ryan and Julio Jones that have the ability to carry this offense under a Dirk Koetter and Steve Sarkisian system.

The first three years with Koetter as the offensive coordinator saw Matt Ryan go drop in completion percentage each year until Koetter left for Tampa Bay.

The Georgia offense is no different. You’re not going to beat anyone running a toss sweep the entire time. Even though D’Andre Swift is a great running back, you’re not going to go all the way on one guy.

Ever since James Coley has taken over for Jim Chaney, who left for Tennessee, as the offensive coordinator, the Georgia offense has sucked. The passing game is simply non-existent. Six times this season Jake Fromm has thrown for less than 200 yards, and three of those times he has finished with less than 48% completion.

Fromm is the college version of Eli Manning, dink and dunks his way downfield.

The most creative this offense has been was a failed flea-flicker against Texas A&M. A pass that Fromm simply missed wide-open guy for a touchdown.

Kirby Smart made the comment about how good SEC defenses are. Yes, the SEC has some great defenses and Georgia is one of those. However, having a 47% or lower completion percentage and less than 200 yards against Auburn, Missouri, and Texas A&M is unacceptable.

Don’t forget Fromm had 51 pass attempts against South Carolina and still didn’t break 300 yards.
