Eliot Wolf – New England Patriots Consultant

It wasn’t long ago that Eliot Wolf was the hot name in discussions about future general managers. He’s the son of former Green Bay Packers GM Ron Wolf, who famously helped turn the fortunes of the organization in the 90s, bringing in Brett Favre, Reggie White, and a Super Bowl.

At 38, Wolf would be one of the youngest general managers in the league but that certainly doesn’t mean he’s inexperienced. He worked for the Packers from 2004 to 2017 and was blocked from interviewing for GM jobs at other teams three times during that time.

Eventually, he was given permission to seek promotion and interviewed with both the 49ers and Colts. He didn’t get either role but was assumed to be the heir apparent in Green Bay and when Ted Thompson got a new position.

Things didn’t go as planned and, after losing out to Brian Gutekunst, for the vacant GM job, Wolf decided to seek a new challenge.

He spent the 2018 and 2019 seasons in Cleveland as assistant general manager to John Dorsey and the team was reportedly keen on keeping him around following Dorsey’s departure but it didn’t happen and he moved to the Patriots as a consultant earlier this year.

Wolf will likely interview for more roles this offseason and the Atlanta Falcons should definitely consider a man with his resume.
