Defensive lineman:

  • Jerry Hughes; Buffalo Bills

  • Ed Oliver; Buffalo Bills

  • Harold Landry; Tennessee Titans

  • Jeffrey Simmons; Tennessee Titans

  • Christian Wilkins; Miami Dolphins

It is not easy to find defensive lineman that teams could seemingly be willing to trade.

Jerry Hughes is an older player for the Buffalo Bills, but he is also a very decent player. He would upgrade the pass rush of the Falcons, while also being able to mentor the younger guys. But he is older, so he does cost a bit more than the other guys on this list.

Ed Oliver, the former first-round pick of the Buffalo Bills, is not someone the Bills would give away. He has been solid over his first two seasons, and his career is only looking up from here. Having him with Grady Jarrett would be a lot of fun for the Falcons.

The two Titans, Harold Landry, and Jeffrey Simmons would excite many Atlanta Falcons fans.

They both have high upside, especially Jeffrey Simmons who has dominated when he has been on the field. Much like many others, it may be difficult to get one of them away from the Titans, but if they could it would be exciting.

Add to the fact that the new defensive coordinator, Dean Pees, was able to coach Jeffrey Simmons and Harold Landry with the Titans, Pees could ask for Fontenot to grab one of them.

Lastly, is Christian Wilkins. Wilkins was rumored to be the Atlanta Falcons’ top target during the 2019 NFL draft, but the Dolphins grabbed him first. That was the previous front office and coaching staff, but there are a few guys leftover who may vouch for him. It would be cool to see two former Clemson guys line up next to each other for the Falcons.
