Defensive backs:

  • JC Jackson; New England Patriots

  • Stephon Gilmore; New England Patriots

  • Trayvon Mullen; Las Vegas Raiders

  • Kevin Byard; Tennessee Titans

JC Jackson has been talked about a good amount when it comes to compensation for Julio Jones. He is a player who has climbed his way to becoming a very good outside corner for the Patriots. He has had a lot of passes thrown at him when Stephon Gilmore has played opposite of him.

Stephon Gilmore has been slept on, not long ago was he the defensive player of the year in the NFL. He has had injuries but he would fun to see in a Falcons uniform. He is more expensive than others, and his cap hit would probably make the Atlanta Falcons not interested in him. Plus the Patriots would endure an eight million dollar cap hit, post-June 1st, but do not count out the possibility fully.

Trayvon Mullen has played in an awful Raiders secondary, and he could provide upside as an outside corner. He seems to be an odd man out with the Raiders’ draft picks and recent signings, so you may be able to snag him for less than he is worth. Maybe getting Mullen, a second-round pick, and possibly more, would get the Atlanta Falcons and Fontenot to agree to trade Julio Jones. With Terrell and Mullen, it could be another possible Clemson duo for the Falcons defense.

And here is another possible wishful thinking target for the Atlanta Falcons, Kevin Byard. Funny enough when it comes to Byard, is that one of the two special seasons he has had, came when Dean Pees was coaching him.

The Atlanta Falcons may not have room for him, or room to take on future years of his contract, but he would upgrade the back end of the defense.
