Isaiah Oliver – Corner

Atlanta Falcons corner Isaiah Oliver could easily be one of the three guys on his last chance in the black and red. He is entering his fourth season with the franchise and has yet to truly impress anyone – even the staff that drafted him didn’t completely believe in his abilities.

Oliver has had chance after chance to show that he could play in the NFL and time after time, he has failed to prove to be worth the second-round pick that former general manager Thomas Dimitroff used on him.

It looks like new defensive coordinator Dean Pees could potentially move him to free safety to start the year. Also during minicamp in early May, the new secondary coach, Jon Hoke, stated that moving Oliver inside gave the team the ability to see what he “could really be as a player”.

That is either a sign that they don’t know what to do with him at this point or the change of positions is meant to take advantage of the skills he does possess. Only time will tell.

He will be given every chance this season to prove he still belongs in the NFL. New staff and a new defensive scheme will provide Oliver with every tool needed to be successful.
