2. Demarvin Leal

Texas A&M has the best true defensive lineman in this draft. Leal is a grown man who is going to translate his production instantly to the next level. This week he will be facing New Mexico in what will be a blowout win for his team.

Watching this game isn’t about the score it is watching the type of tape that Leal is going to put together this season.  Leal is listed at 6’4 and 291-pounds and runs with shocking quickness that will beat you or he will run through you.

He would be the perfect player to pair with Grady Jarrett and give the Atlanta defensive line some hope.  The ugliest part of Atlanta’s week one loss was watching their defensive line being completely overmatched.  The Eagles opted to double team Grady and let the rest of their line maul the remaining Falcons lineman. It was a strategy that worked too well, one that wouldn’t be an option if Atlanta added a player like Leal.

Whether through the draft or free agency the Atlanta defensive line has to get better in the coming seasons. Drafting Leal would be a step in that direction one that would give Atlanta a high motored lineman who is going to go after the quarterback and make huge plays.
