Atlanta: Unleash the Run Game

As noted, Matt Ryan must be kept upright to keep the Falcons in the game, and in that same vein, having a run game will go a long way. A stout run game can open up the passing game via the play-action pass. Atlanta head coach Arthur Smith brings a run-oriented style of offense from the Titans.

Their backfield of Mike Davis, Cordarrelle Patterson, and the recently signed Wayne Gallman must be used to create an effective ground game.

It would also create more short-yard situations to make the play-action pass effective. For example, second down and five is a better set of circumstances for play action to work.

If there is a time to see Smith’s run attack play out, this game would be it.
