4. Matt Ryan will find a way to utilize Alshon Jeffrey in the Atlanta offense

Alshon Jeffrey’s best days are behind him, he is a veteran receiver who struggles to separate and would still be the second or third receiver in Atlanta. Watching the first two weeks of Atlanta football among the offensive struggles that stand out are the receivers’ inability to separate.

While Jeffrey struggles to do this as well Ryan will find a way to get him the football considering the way he is utilizing his current options.

Jeffrey is an experienced veteran who would offer Atlanta something they lack an established receiver after Calvin Ridley. Russell Gage has had two very uneven weeks and no one behind him seems to be threatening for the starting job.

This is a big concern considering how badly Gage has played. He deserves credit for playing through injury against the Bucs but it was a week after he failed to make a single catch as the Falcons’ second receiver that simply won’t cut it.

Signing Jeffrey is more of a desperate move to get Ryan some help and less about Jeffrey. It is a move Atlanta can make without repercussions and hope Ryan can continue to find a way to keep them in games.
