2. Jalen Mayfield could be replaced by nearly every guard on the market

I have seen more than enough of Jalen Mayfield, he isn’t capable of protecting Matt Ryan or run blocking with any consistency. It is time to move on from the guard and direct him to where he should have started the season, the bench.

Nick Easton is one of many bad options, however, he is an upgrade and offers Atlanta a better chance of protecting Ryan.

Easton spent time with the Vikings and the Saints starting thirty-two games in his career. Easton is a reliable player who is going to improve Atlanta’s run blocking and simply put can’t be worse than Mayfield at protecting Ryan.

Whether it is Easton or another free agent Atlanta needs to add to the guard position. If Mayfield is a starter on this team how bad is the guard behind him? It is time to call the experiment failed and find any other option at the position.

Mayfield could still figure it out, however, Atlanta cannot continue to let him learn on the job. It could result in Ryan getting hurt something that would make an ugly Atlanta season unwatchable considering who they have behind him currently.
