PFF shows that the Atlanta Falcons possess the best corner in the league

When you go onto the Falcons team as a whole on PFF.com, one thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is A.J. Terrell’s grade and ranking among his position.

Outside of Cordarrelle Patterson, A.J. Terrell is the highest-ranked player at his position on the entire Falcons team. Currently, he is ranked the third-best cornerback in the league, but he has the highest coverage grade in the NFL, among corners.

So, if you strictly take the primary responsibility of a corner, PFF.com says that A.J. is the single best player at his position in the entire league. Not much else you can say.

The only reason Terrell does not have the highest overall grade is due to his run defense grade being slightly lower than the other two guys, but even then his overall grade is within .3 of the top spot in the NFL.

Again, people just like to look at the eye-popping numbers when it comes to football, but the ability of a corner is not shown in the stats, it is shown by how few yards or catches they allow, which is a more advanced statistic.

This is why Terrell suffers when it comes to media recognition, people know how bad the Falcons defense is, so, they automatically assume that Terrell is struggling, when in reality he is better than anyone else.

Hopefully, somehow the former Clemson star will get the media attention he deserves, possibly getting him into his first of many Pro Bowls.
