1. Alshon Jeffrey remains a free agent and a better option than anyone currently on Atlanta’s active roster

Alshon Jeffrey has not been the player he was the last two years and struggled to find the burst he had early in his career. However, even if he isn’t the player he once was he is a better player and a better option for the Falcons than Gage or Sharpe. He is big-bodied and can help stretch the field take some attention off of Kyle Pitts.

Why Atlanta hasn’t yet had him in for a workout is odd when you consider how desperate they should be at the position. They seem to prefer sitting with their current options hoping they suddenly will become productive options they are not.

Instead of sitting and waiting for something that will never happen Atlanta should sign Jeffrey and see what the veteran has left. Jeffrey would instantly become Ryan’s second-best target behind Kyle Pitts and offer the rookie a bit of help.

Right now Pitts is demanding a lot of defensive attention simply because they know what every Falcons fan knows. You are far better off focusing on stopping Pitts and Patterson because no one else on this roster is going to hurt you consistently. Jeffrey may not change the Falcons’ fortunes but he will give the offense a receiver capable of helping Ryan.
