Atlanta Falcons trade down in full 7 round all SEC mock draft
By Nick Halden
Continuing to build their defense the Falcons draft Pritchett out of Auburn to pair alongside A.J. Terrell. Finding help in the secondary has to be high on Atlanta’s long list of priorities in this scenario they find that help early on in the draft in Pritchett and Battle.
Pritchett is a former receiver who can be beaten deep but also has big-play ability. He would be the perfect corner to pair with Terrell and would likely be available this late into the draft. While speculating draft picks ahead of the combine is always tough we do know this is a very deep class at the corner position.
Atlanta will certainly be able to pick its spot where they want to take a risk at the position. The third round with three solid picks already in and Pritchett still there it was the perfect time to take a risk and Pritchett is just that.
It is hard to see Pritchett struggling any worse than any member of Atlanta’s secondary not named Terrell even if he does need time to adjust.
Three rounds in and Atlanta has already addressed three of their biggest issues addressing their run defense, offensive line, and rebuilding their secondary with Pritchett and Battle.
