3 Players the Atlanta Falcons could sign to replace Julio Jones

3. Will the Cowboys actually part ways with Amari Cooper?
Much the same as with Calvin Ridley there has been a lot of buzz this off-season around Dallas receiver Amari Cooper. Just as with Ridley much of this is speculation as very little is known about whether or not Amari has a future in Dallas.
For Atlanta to chase Cooper the Cowboys would have to cut the receiver instead of attempting a trade. This isn’t unthinkable when you look at the Dallas cap situation and the receivers they have on their roster and heading into free agency.
Cutting Cooper would be a splashy move but not an altogether surprising one. Cooper wouldn’t be as explosive or exciting as Pickens or Beckham but he would be just as productive. Often lost in the drama that always is the Dallas Cowboys is the fact that Cooper has quietly been great during his time in Dallas.
He is still a top fifteen receiver capable of wrecking the opposing secondary. This is a skill set that Atlanta lacked for the 2021 season and in a strong receiver class Cooper could become Atlanta’s best financial option. Amari Cooper could still be a Cowboy when the 2022 season kicks off, however, if that were to change Atlanta should chase a player that is more than capable of replacing the production they are missing.
