2. Foye Oluokun is headed to the Jacksonville Jaguars

Atlanta was never going to be able to pay both Deion Jones and Foye in a defense that is as broken as Atlanta’s has been. This left Atlanta with a choice and it appears they chose to stick with Jones rather than match the money that Jacksonville spent for Foye. It was the right move for a team that needs help at pass rusher and in the secondary.

Mykal Walker has shown flashes of his potential and there are plenty of options in free agency as well as a linebacker heavy draft. Losing Foye hurts but it isn’t the end of the world for a defense that was already focused on rebuilding.

Paying both Foye and Jones isn’t going to work for the Falcons roster and Foye was able to cash in with Jacksonville. It is a good move for both sides and will give Deion a chance to step up and become the impact player he was expected to be last season. There was some noted regression in the new Atlanta defensive scheme for Jones making 2022 a big season for the former LSU standout.  Foye will be missed and is a solid add for a Jacksonville team that will be interesting to watch next season.
