4. Give Matt Ryan a clear answer as to whether the team is committed to the veteran

If the Atlanta Falcons are not committed to Matt Ryan beyond this season why should Ryan waste a year of what prime he has left? He is well past the halfway point of his career one would surmise and doesn’t have long left to find that elusive ring.

Atlanta needs to be clear with Matt Ryan what they expect from him and what they need to see to stay with the veteran past this season. On the flip side, they could reload and attempt to convince Ryan to come back for one last ride before trading the veteran next off-season.

Regardless of what the answer is if the team hasn’t been clear with Ryan about their plans for the position they need to be. Give Ryan the respect he deserves as a franchise stalwart and put your options clearly on the table.

Again, there is no knowing for sure whether or not this communication has already happened. However, if the way the Deshaun Watson situation was handled is any indication it seems doubtful Ryan has been given the communication or respect he deserves.
