Atlanta Falcons draft a quarterback in this full 7 round mock draft
By Nick Halden
Derion Kendrick could be considered a bit of a reach in this spot, however, at this point in the draft anyone you pick is a gamble. When you get past the 5th round of the draft a lot of selections are guesses and hopes for development once you get the prospect in your organization. Kendrick has great speed and length and was part of a program that has done a great job getting its players ready to go to the next level.
Kendrick wouldn’t be a starter but would give them an option in case of injury. He would be a player that could develop and pair alongside A.J. Terrell in 2023 if Atlanta moves off of Casey Hayward. The chances of finding a starter at this point are slim but Kendrick is a Georgia product and is a good fit for the Atlanta defense.
Kendrick would be the second addition to the Atlanta secondary from the SEC along with safety Smoke Monday giving the Falcons a shot at finding impact players late in the draft.
Overall this draft would be a win for Atlanta hopefully finding their quarterback of the future while addressing Atlanta’s weakest position groups and giving the team exciting additions in Ross and Willis.
